Our Flagship Tour: A Winter Journey Through Southern Utah’s Iconic Landscapes
Experience Utah’s Mighty 5 National Parks in a whole new light during the peaceful winter months. With fewer crowds, cooler temperatures, and snow-capped red rock formations, this season offers stunning scenery, solitude on popular trails and some of the best stargazing in the country. Our classic 5-day adventure is the perfect way to explore Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands, and Capitol Reef with a small group and expert guides. Each night, relax in comfortable accommodations after a day of adventure. Make your winter escape truly special with one of our top-rated, all-inclusive tours through Utah’s red rock country.
This morning, we’ll depart Salt Lake City and travel from the snow-capped peaks of the Wasatch Mountains to the stunning red rock canyons of southern Utah. Along the way, our expert guides will share fascinating insights into the region’s geology, Indigenous history, and diverse ecosystems. We’ll make a few scenic stops en route before grabbing lunch at one of our favorite local cafés near Zion, known for its food and scenic views of the Virgin River.
In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at Zion National Park for an introductory hike along the Virgin River, surrounded by Zion’s towering sandstone cliffs. After exploring the park, we’ll check in to our cozy hotel just outside the entrance in the charming town of Springdale. We’ll cap off the day with a delicious included dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants and go over the exciting adventures planned for the next day!

Today, we return to the heart of Zion National Park to hike the enchanting Emerald Pools and Kayenta Trails. These trails offer sweeping views of Zion Canyon, hanging gardens, sandstone alcoves, and waterfalls that often freeze into glittering ice formations during the cooler months. With crisp air and minimal crowds, winter in Zion offers a rare, intimate experience of the park’s red rock beauty—serene, photogenic, and truly unforgettable.
After our hike, we’ll enjoy a scenic picnic lunch before making our way toward Bryce Canyon. This evening, you’ll settle into our hotel just outside the park and enjoy a relaxing dinner at Ruby’s Inn.

Hiking: Emerald Pools & Kayenta Trail | 2-4 miles | 500+ feet elevation gain
Accommodation: Ruby’s Inn or similar in Bryce Canyon City, Utah
Meals Included: Breakfast & Lunch
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at Ruby’s Inn before we head into Bryce Canyon National Park for a breathtaking rim walk. Perched at over 8,000 feet, Bryce is the highest point on our journey—and in winter, it transforms into a true wonderland. Hoodoos dusted with snow, crisp mountain air, and golden light filtering through pine trees make this one of the most magical times to visit. Fewer visitors mean a peaceful, almost otherworldly experience as we stroll along the rim and take in the sweeping views.
Note: Due to the park’s high elevation, weather can impact access. Rim walks or hikes may not be possible during heavy snowfall, and road closures can occur. Please bring warm winter clothing—snow is likely during this portion of the trip.
After our morning at Bryce, we’ll journey along scenic backroads to Capitol Reef National Park, where we’ll stop for a picnic lunch surrounded by towering cliffs and colorful domes. Often overlooked, Capitol Reef is a hidden gem. The quiet, uncrowded trails allow for a deep connection with this spectacular landscape. We’ll stretch our legs with a walk along the Fremont River Trail, offering canyon views, orchards, and glimpses of petroglyphs etched into sandstone. From here, we’ll continue our drive to the unique town of Moab, where we’ll stay in the heart of downtown for the next two nights. Once checked in, you’ll have time to wander just outside your hotel to explore Moab’s charming shops, cafés, and local restaurants—all within walking distance.
Driving Time: 3.5 Hours

This morning, we’ll enter Canyonlands National Park to explore the stunning “Island in the Sky” District. Perched atop a massive mesa, this area offers sweeping views from 2,000-foot cliffs overlooking a maze of canyons carved by the Colorado and Green Rivers. The surreal landscape, shaped by wind and water over millions of years, feels like stepping onto another planet.
We’ll depart early to witness the famous sunrise glow at Mesa Arch—an unforgettable moment as the first light of day ignites the arch’s underside with a fiery orange hue, perfectly framing the canyons beyond. After soaking in the sunrise, we’ll drive to the edge of the plateau for a rewarding hike to Grand View Point, which lives up to its name with one of the most jaw-dropping panoramic vistas in the entire national park system.
Following the hike, we’ll return to Moab for lunch, then continue our adventure in our final national park—Arches. This geological wonderland features over 2,000 natural stone arches, sculpted towers, and balanced rocks that seem to defy gravity. We’ll explore the Windows Section and Double Arch, where short walks lead to some of the park’s most iconic and photogenic formations—especially stunning in the soft afternoon light. Afterward, we’ll head back to Moab for a celebratory group dinner—our treat!

This morning, we return to Arches National Park for one final adventure—an unforgettable hike to the world-renowned Delicate Arch. This iconic trail is moderately challenging but rewards your efforts with one of the most breathtaking sights in the American Southwest. As you arrive at the base of the arch, framed by distant red rock canyons and open sky, you’ll feel a deep sense of awe that will stay with you long after the trip ends.
After our hike, we’ll begin the journey back to Salt Lake City, stopping along the way for a delicious lunch at one of our favorite local spots near Green River.
Note: Depending on weather and trail conditions, especially during winter, the Delicate Arch Trail may be icy. Our experienced guides will assess conditions and adjust the plan if needed—ensuring a safe and memorable final hike, whether to Delicate Arch or another remarkable area in the park.
