Today we will be introduced to some of the most incredible canyon vistas that span as far as the eye can see. Canyonlands – split into 3 distinct districts – provides some of Utah’s most impressive rock formations. We will explore the Island in the Sky District in addition to a stop at the amazing Dead Horse Point State Park for a famous view of the Colorado River. This evening we will arrive to our accommodation for an included dinner. This evening be sure to peek outside and enjoy the spectacular night skies of southern Utah.

This morning, enjoy a deluxe breakfast as you view the sunrise from the hotel’s back patio. Once loaded up on food and hot coffee, it’s time to begin our adventure for the day and explore Arches National Park for some awesome hikes and sightseeing. Arches is home to over 2,000 natural arches – the most found anywhere in the world. Plan on exploring the Devil’s Garden area of the park where we will see a wide assortment of arches including the longest in the park, Landscape Arch at 306 feet! This afternoon we will explore a bit more of the surrounding Moab area and spend some time in town. We will return to the hotel this evening for dinner and sunset along the Colorado River.
This morning you can enjoy another hot breakfast before we head back to Arches National Park to visit one of the most famous features in the entire National Park system – Delicate Arch! This hike leads you to one of the Southwest’s most iconic (and photogenic) rock formations. After we complete the hike, we will enjoy an included lunch before making our return trip to Salt Lake City!
Driving time: 4 Hours
Hiking: 3 miles – 500+ feet elevation gain
Return to Salt Lake City: We plan to return to SLC by approximately 6:00pm. If you plan to depart from Salt Lake International Airport after the trip, be sure you do not book a flight prior to 10:00pm or 22:00 due to various circumstances out of our control.

All of the meals were delicious, healthy and nutritious. The camping equipment was all new, and withstood some cold and windy nights without any issue. There was plenty of exploring and getting a taste of the trails, balanced in with chill time at camp or bonding with the group in the car. Our guides were amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic time. The trails and parks were visited were beautiful, all different from each other and had their own wonders. Justin has a wealth of knowledge about the area and JC was a natural guide, bringing a zen like approach to connecting with nature. It was one of the best group trips I've ever been on, and I've been on plenty. I would highly recommend a trip with Mountain Based and hope to go out with them again in furture.

I have never camped before and being a city girl I wasn’t sure what to expect but our tour guides Eric and Megan were GREAT!! They were so accommodating and made sure to show us how to set up the tents (super easy) while they would prepare lovely dinners for us (ask Eric for his lentil soup/stew recipe! its DELISH). As there was one spot left I did this trip solo but never felt alone:) The group was diverse and made for a lot of wonderful relationships and memories. Lunches and dinners by the campfire were a unique experience and created a bond among us. The hikes picked for the parks were doable and I definitely reached my 10k steps a day :). My favorite was the narrows hike in Zion as there is nothing like it. I am definitely going to sign up for other MB tours! I would recommend if you want a perfectly planned trip. MB took the stress out of planning for a first time visitor and so happy I did it. One last shout out to Nick who prior to me coming onto the trip answered my calls and emails regarding itinerary, what to pack etc. The entire team at MB are all wonderful!
