On August 12th 1949, thirty-eight pioneers loaded up into a van and departed the corn fields of Iowa traveling 5,900 miles round-trip on unpaved roads across the country to the State of Washington. Upon arrival, the group met up with legendary climber Fred Beckey; who assisted and climbed famous peaks such as Mt. Adams, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker, Pinnacle Peak, and Castle Peak. The design of this shirt was inspired by a map of the PNW from a journal found in our garage documenting this expedition.
The 1949 PNW Expedition 3/4 Sleeve offers a stylish spin on the classic baseball raglan. The combed cotton blend makes it super soft, comfortable, and lightweight. This raglan embodies the adventurous spirit of early pioneers living their life on the road chasing peaks throughout the Pacific Northwest in the late 1940’s.
